Understanding Nervousness: The Language of Your Nervous System

As a relationship coach, I often observe that the quality of our connections with others starts with the quality of the connection we have with ourselves. Often, when we feel frazzled, reactive, or unable to truly listen to a partner, it is not simply a matter of willpower or personality. It is a reflection of our internal state, specifically the activity of our nervous system.
In my work, I pay close attention to a specific set of data points known as VHF, or Very High Frequencies. These are electrical signals in the body that pulse faster than 0.4 Hz. While they might seem like just another set of numbers in a report, they are actually a sophisticated language. They tell us exactly how much nervousness or agitation is currently present in your system.
What VHF Tells Us About Your State
Think of your nervous system as the underlying electrical grid that powers your emotions and reactions. When everything is running smoothly, this grid hums with a steady, balanced rhythm. However, when you are under chronic stress, facing unresolved conflict, or simply exhausted, this rhythm changes. The VHF signals become more prominent, acting as a biological indicator that your system is in a state of high alert.
When these frequencies are elevated, you might notice that you are more prone to irritability, that your focus is fragmented, or that you feel a persistent sense of 'buzzing' under your skin. This is your body's way of saying it is working overtime to navigate its environment. It is not a flaw in your character; it is a signal that your nervous system needs support to return to a state of equilibrium.
VHF as a Resource for Growth
It is easy to view 'nervousness' as something to suppress or fight against. However, in the context of self-development, I prefer to look at it differently. When we identify VHF as a priority, we are not just trying to 'fix' a problem-we are inviting the body to share what it needs to feel safe again.
When used as a resource, these frequencies help us gain deep insights into your current capacity for emotional regulation. By understanding the specific patterns of your nervousness, we can use targeted interventions to soothe the system. This might involve using specific harmonic frequencies that act as a gentle invitation for your nervous system to downshift. When your system feels safer and less agitated, your ability to empathize, communicate clearly, and remain present in your relationships expands significantly.
Restoring Harmony
When we address these high-frequency signals, we are essentially clearing the static from the line. This allows you to move from a place of reactive survival to a place of conscious connection. Whether you are working on your own or navigating complex dynamics with a partner, bringing your nervous system back into a state of calm is one of the most powerful gifts you can offer yourself.
If you find that your internal rhythm feels erratic, remember that this is simply information. Your body is constantly seeking a return to balance. By acknowledging these signals, you take the first step toward reclaiming your center and fostering an environment where both you and your relationships can truly thrive.
